Kevin Torrie is a recently retired 32 year veteran of York Regional Police. He attained the rank of Superintendent and retired as the Commander responsible for:
Public Safety Unit - which includes, Emergency Management Unit, Event Assessment, Search and Rescue and Public Order
Emergency Response Unit
Explosive Disposal Unit
Critical Incident Command
Air Support Unit and Canine Unit Road Safety
This area of Command was partnered with stakeholders, sharing the responsibility of Public Safety for planned and unplanned events and emergencies.
During his career Kevin was continually engaged in the Operational Command, being responsible for signiﬁcant areas of Front line policing, Criminal Investigation and Tactical Support.
Kevin has been an active member of a number of committees with regards to Public Safety, Incident Response, and Emergency Preparedness.
